Technetium-99m teboroxime is a myocardial imaging agent and is excreted primarily by the hepatobiliary system. It is rapidly taken up by the myocardium and mosdy washes out within 30 minutes. Imaging protocols are performed immediately after injection. The product is a lyopbili ed mixture of boronic acid, dioxine, and other excipients, and the agent is formed with a beating step.

These results indicate that, provided the appropriate imaging protocol is used, MRI can replace CT as the imaging modality of choice in acute stroke patients, if SAH is excluded. 

When planning functional studies it is important to consider that most anaesthetics cause cardiac and respiratory depression. For chronic studies it may only be important to ensure that the depth of anaesthesia is reproducible from imaging session to imaging session, however for acute studies it is necessary to consider interactions between the anaesthetic and the test substance. The complexity of cardiac structure and function needs to be understood to devise a well-planned imaging protocol. 

The half-life of 18F (109 min) is sufficiently long to carry out complex synthesis procedures, apply long PET imaging protocols, and carry out metabohte analysis. Furthermore, it is possible to produce the radiopharmaceutical in a laboratory and transport it to a distant site only equipped with an imaging device. These kinds of satellite PET centers have boomed all around the world and permitted the fast expansion of PET as an everyday clinical tool in certain pathologies (mainly in oncological diseases). 

The imaging protocol summarized above for PTFE (hands-on example 3) remains fully applicable for POM. Imaging at minimized forces F is obviously beneficial to reduce the contact area (which scales in a purely elastic approximation as F2/3) and thus to increase lateral resolution, while minimizing sample deformation. The resolution of the exposed POM crystal facet may require a careful adjustment of the relative scan angle, since periodicities are more clearly discernible in a near perpendicular (vertical direction of the image) orientation with respect to the fast scan direction (horizontal direction of the image). Hence, for the two periodicities observed, in, Fig. 3.15, the chain direction (see arrows) should be in an angle of 45° with respect to the fast scan direction in order to visualize both periodicities.

Image Acquisition Parameters. The CTP imaging protocol has always been performed at 80 kV, rather than the more conventional 120-140 kV.
