Ibuprofen Warfarin

Ibuprofen and warfarin are ligands that strongly bind to the sub-domains IIA and IIIA, respectively, of HSA. The identity of the HSA binding site can be determined through competitive binding assays with known binding substrates, such as ibuprofen, warfarin, bilirubin, linolenic acid, and 1,3,5-triiodobenzoic acid.

CEC has also been used for the chiral analysis of pollutants, using a variety of chiral mobile phase additives. Cyclodextrin chiral selectors have been used for the chiral resolution of ibuprofen [49], 2-phenylpropionic acid and warfarin [50]. Other chiral selectors that have been resolved include warfarin on human semm albumin [51], ibuprofen on avidin [52], dichloroprop, ibuprofen, warfarin and thalidomide on vancomycin [53], ibuprofen and warfarin on teicoplanin [54], thalidomide and warfarin on... 

Cytochrome P450 2C9 Low activity in about 10% (heterozygotes) and very low activity in about 0.8% (homozygotes) of Caucasian populations. Prolonged action of several CYP2C9 inactivated drugs like phenytoin, tolbutamide, ibuprofen, or S-warfarin.

This study also suggests that molecular size and structure play a role in this interaction. The binding behaviors of dextrin oligomers for four different pharmaceuticals (ibuprofen, ketoprofen, furosemide, and warfarin) were observed under the same experimental conditions. Ibuprofen and ketoprofen, two compounds that are similar in chemical structure and pharmaceutical use, showed obvious differences in interaction patterns (Fig. 13A and B). Because of reported antiplatelet effects, patients using anticlotting medications (eg, warfarin, aspirin, ibuprofen) should use garlic cautiously. Additional monitoring of blood pressure and signs and symptoms of bleeding is warranted. Garlic may reduce the bioavailability of saquinavir, an antiviral protease inhibitor, but it does not appear to affect the bioavailability of ritonavir. 

Albumin has two binding sites Site I binds structurally unrelated substances (e.g., warfarin, phenytoin, and sulfonamides), and Site II, which is more selective, binds a smaller number of drugs (i.e., diazepam, phenylbutazone, and ibuprofen).
