After the very excellent presentations of my predecessors on this platform, much of what I had intended to say is redundant. Still, although it may be gilding the lily, I should like to add my praise for the outstandingly informative and balanced report on the subject of our discussion by the House Committee on Science and Astronautics of the United States Congress and congratulations to the American Chemical Society for having arranged this symposium. 

DON FUQUA is a U.S. Congressman representing the Second District of Florida. He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1958, re-elected in 1960, then elected to the U.S. House of Rq>resenta-tives in 1962. There he serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Science and Technology and its Subcommittee on Space Science and Applications, and is a member of the House Government Operations Committee. He is a graduate of the University of Florida.
