Hourly workers engagement

Workers engaged in transport of intermediate products have exposure levels to carbon disulfide from 2.2 to 3.1 times the 8-hour exposure TLV (TLV 10mg/m3). 

DNOC did not cause allergic reactions <48 and 72 hours after concentrations of 0.5% or 1.0% were diluted in water and applied to the upper back of agricultural workers, former agricultural workers, and other human subjects (Lisi et al. 1987). However, a petechial rash was observed on the right shoulder of an individual engaged in cleaning the jets of spray booms of aircraft spraying a 10% solution of DNOC in oil (Stott 1956). The exposure period was estimated to be 17 days. 

They and their co-workers will not only be safer, their work will be easier. Easier because the same lean tools used to advance safety will have reduced the cycle times of the work they perform. This lean safety activity which engages both salaried and hourly staff, will improve safety and cycle times and help to establish a continuous improvement culture. The continuous improvement of work processes and safety can be the same activity. 

Skilled trades people are maintenance personnel, millwrights, tinsmiths, machinists, electricians, and steamfitters. Skilled trades people are not production workers. Mostly, they do nonroutine work, are exposed to sources of high energy, and are engaged sometimes in at-plant constmction. Hours worked during the period that Mirer references stand in the billions. His fatality numbers are statistically significant. 

Initial training, (i) General site workers (such as equipment operators, general laborers and supervisory personnei) engaged in hazardous substance removai or other activities which expose or potentiaiiy expose workers to hazardous substances and heaith hazards shaii receive a minimum of 40 hours of instruction off the site, and a minimum of three days actuai fieid experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor.
