Much attention is currently devoted to the synthesis and properties of shape-persistent macrocycles[l]. Such compounds are interesting for a variety of reasons including formation of columnar stacks potentially capable of performing as nanopores for incorporation into membranes or for the generation of nanowires[2]. Furthermore, in shape-persistent macrocycles incorporating coordination units, enc/o-cyclic metal-ion coordination may be exploited to generate nanowires[3], whereas e.ro-cyclic coordination can be used to construct large arrays of polynuclear metal complexes[4]. Shape-persistent macrocycles with reactive substituents may also be linked to other units to yield multicomponent, hierarchical structures. [Pg.219]

NFs acted as an oxidant to oxidatively polymerize aniline. Consequently, Mn O was completely consumed while PANl/TiO -NFs were formed. Composite fiber film having a PANI nanowire-on-TiO nano/microfiber hierarchical nano/microstructure was fabricated by electrospinning, calcinations and in situ polymerization [121], The photocatalytic electrodeposition of PANI in nanotubular TiO host matrice was recently reported by Janaky ef a/. [ 108]. TiO films were initially electrosynthesized on titanium foil by anodization at different voltages in fluoride-containing aqueous media, and then the PANI was electrografted onto the entire surface of... [Pg.127]

Starting from the ID precursor of MOjOj CCgH Nj HjO, MoO /PANI nanowires were received after polymerization, which were then converted to MoS /PANl via hydrothermal process with thiourea. The as-obtained products evenly integrate MoS ultrathin nanosheets with PANl into the primary ID architecture, resulting in the novel hierarchical and polymer-hybrid nanowires. These unique MoS /PANI nanowires exhibited greatly improved Li+-storage properties owing to the hierarchical textures and the PANI-hybrid structures. [Pg.411]
