Microwear tests performed using atomic force microscopy (AFM) were reported by Miyake et al. [74] and by Schiitze [55]. The result was that the wear caused by a diamond tip is much greater for hBN than for cBN. Plasma Synthesis The use of plasma methods has lead to a new range of materials having unique properties.
