Hannoa undulata

Quassinoids.—The structure of soulameolide (108), a new C25 quassinoid from Soulamea tomentosa, has been established by X-ray analysis. The search for biologically active compounds continues. Undulatone (109) from Hannoa undulata, 6a-tigloyloxychapparinone (110) from Ailanthus integrifoliaj and 6a-senecioylchapparinone (111) from Simaba multiflora have antileukaemic... [Pg.152]

A mixture of quassinoids from Hannoa undulata (Sima-roubaceae) prevented penetration of tomato roots by infective juveniles of the root-rot nematode, Meloidogyne javanica, at 1-5 xg/ml. The major components of the mixture were chapparrinone (56), klaineanone (59), and glaucaruba-lone (57) (Chitwood, 1992). The primary effect appeared to be on the motility of the nematodes. [Pg.482]

Recently another cytotoxic quassinoid, undulatone (42) (109) was isolated from Hannoa undulata. It has ester groups at both C-15 and C-6. [Pg.230]

Another major indication of the Simaroubaceae also focuses on the respiratoiy system, and Ailanthus altissima, A. excelsa, A. triphysa, Brucea antidysenterica, Hannoa klaineana. Quassia africana, Q. gabonensis, and Q. undulata are prescribed in case of serious pulmonary infections (bronchitis, asthma, cough,... [Pg.3795]
