Handling Options

The transfer of materials to and from the fluid bed processor is an important consideration. The loading and unloading of the processing bowl can be accomplished either by manual mode or by automated methods.

These three options differ merely in the way the ten patients who were assigned to surgery, but did not receive the intended surgery are handled. Option 1 ignores them, option 2 puts them in the radio-therapy group , while option 3 leaves them in the surgery group .

The main point of partitioning the high level waste is that it shall lead to a safer waste (more acceptable to the public) as well as a cheaper back d fuel cycle (to the advantage of the nuclear energy industry). Koyama has analyzed the different waste handling options. Fig. 21.21, and concluded that fiiU partitioning (actinides as well as Sr+Cs, Tc and I) will lead to the cheapest fuel cycle.

UV-Visible absorption spectrometry is the most commonly used method in modem enzymatic analysis. Suitable spectrometers are found in every laboratory, and many analyses use simple, robust, relatively cheap instruments. The availability of disposable polystyrene or acrylic cuvettes is a further advantage for conventional solution studies, but many analyses now use microtiter plates, the individual wells of which can be examined in a simple spectrometer. If extra treatment capacity is not cost effective another option may be to handle the produced water differently. Conversion Processes. A number of options exist for handling concentrated sulfur dioxide streams. One option is the sale of a Hquid sulfur dioxide product. Alternatively, the sulfur dioxide can be converted to elemental sulfur or to sulfuric acid.

Distances are measured from the center of the rectangular area. Since the numerical integration algorithm can estimate concentrations within the area source, the user can enter any value for the minimum distance.
