Gutters

Sheets of galvanised iron are used for roofing, guttering and the like. Alloys of zinc, notably brass, are used extensively. The metal is used m wet and dry Leclanche batteries.

Constant flow jets operate by passiag a stream of charged particles contiauously through an electric field. In order for these to hit the substrate the drops have to be deflected by electrical force. Nondeflected drops fall iato a gutter. By changing the electrical field, drops can be deflected different distances and directions, so it is possible to obtain designs usiag a relatively few number of jets. Both techniques have been used widely for paper. 

The second largest market is that of profiles, particularly for the building industry. UPVC has become well established for guttering, waste piping and conduits, where economies arise not just in basic product costs but also in transportation and installation costs. Unlike with cast iron products, corrosion and maintenance is less of a problem, although UPVC products are more liable...

Drainage water from copper affects zinc in a similar way. Zinc sheets must never be fixed with copper nails, nor should copper roofs drain into zinc or galvanised gutters. Copper lightning arrestors provide further potential hazards to zinc work when a copper lightning strip has to pass over or near a zinc roof, it should be either well insulated or heavily tinned. 

The answer to a) is B. The growth of this organism is prevented at quite some distance from the gutter. The answer to b) is A and D, neither of these organisms appear to be inhibited by the test substances. 

Accidents have also occurred while NG was being transported around manufacturing facilities via gravity flow in gutters. To increase the safety of such transport, detonation breakers can be introduced along its flow path. An example of a detonation breaker is shown in Fig... 

A most important class of pump for dealing with highly viscous material is represented by the screw extruder used in the polymer industry. Extruders find their main application in the manufacture of simple and complex sections (rods, tubes, headings, curtain rails, rainwater gutterings and a multitude of other shapes). However, the shape of section produced in a given material is dependent only on the profile of the hole through which the fluid is pushed just before it cools and solidifies. The screw pump is of more general application and will be considered first. 

The United States produces more than 7 billion kilograms of vinyl chloride annually. Most is converted to the polymer poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), which is used to make piping, siding, gutters, floor tiles, clothing, and toys. Vinyl chloride is made in a two-step process.
