As pointed ont previously, the literature on safe staffing levels in process control is sparse. Nevertheless, the use of appropriate staffing levels by organizations is of critical importance to the safety and efficiency of process control performance. It is therefore recommended that organizations take steps to identify exactly what the safe staffing levels are for each process undertaken within their plant. Steps should then be taken to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate.

Several IAEA Safety Standards and Safety Guides [1-4] have been published to provide Member States with guidance and recommendations regarding which safety requirements in the management of the radioactive wastes shall be met.
