Growth hormone actions

Somatomedins are polypeptide mediators produced in response to growth hormone in the liver, e.g. insulinlike growth factors (IGFs). In particular, IGF-1 is the main mediator of growth hormone action.

This change is influenced by metaboHc hormone action rarely do any of the hormones or other influencing factors act independent of each other to regulate nutrient partitioning. The growth hormone auxin (cf. 2.4 and Scheme 1) has been discussed to be a possible photoreceptor. However, in this case, this is not supported by the action spectrum either.
