GRAPHIC ART APPLICATION

The use of high purity selenium in digital imaging is considered a potential market. Sdenium-based plates can be used to replace conventional silver-based x-ray film, and in 1994 the Xerox Corporation introduced a sdenium-based product, Verdefilm, for use in graphic arts applications.

The obtainment of fine powders of PCL, poly(co-laurolactam), and their copolymers has attracted relevant attention in recent years for possible commercial utilizations in several fields. Cosmetic formulations, coating and graphic art applications, protein or enzyme immobilization techniques, rotational molding and sintering processes, and filtration devices in food and beverage industry are the major industrial fields where powdered polyamides are currently applied. Their use as stationary phase in chromatography has also been envisaged and introduced for some specific systems. 

The construction was completed some time in 1988. At its peak, DXI employed around 300 people. About 60 of these had come from DuPont, 30 from Xerox, and the remainder was hired for the new company. Its mission was to develop technology for graphic arts applications for DuPont and for office applications for Xerox. Triacetate film is used in the graphic arts, for greetings cards, and for specialised electrical applications such as non-conducting separators.

This review has demonstrated that a wide variety of organic and organometallic electron donors and a smaller number of electron acceptors can function as coinitiators for the photo-induced polymerization of monomers using photoreducible or photooxidizable dyes as absorbers of incident light. These compositions can be used for a number of applications in the printing, graphics arts, and electronics industries where sensitivity to visible wavelengths is necessary. 

Having sold all these base chemicals - most of them at peak value - UCB focused on innovative specialty resins such as UV cure resins, powder coating resins, and high-solid resins for automotive, graphic arts, and industrial applications. The Films division is one of the major producers of polyolefin films in Europe and an important converter of films, papers and other web form materials. The materials are mainly used for technical applications such as label and graphic arts, adhesive tapes, building and construction, automotive and packaging. 

The final major concern with inkjet relates to the manufacturability of drop-by-drop pattern formation. For even relatively small circuits, the number of drops that must fire correctly very rapidly rises into the millions for many applications.
