Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (referred to in the text as the Safeguards Committee )—Panel of outside experts established by the AEC in 1953 to provide an independent review of the safety aspects of nuclear reactors. Congress made it a statutory body in 1957. [Pg.427]
