Glass coating PMMA

Polymers can also be used to manufacture lenses and screens for projection television systems. These are most conveniently made from PMMA, or combinations of glass and PMMA, to counteract the high thermal expansion of the polymer. The use of ultraviolet curable coatings for lens replication and protective layers is widespread, and these systems are based on diacrylate or dimethacrylate monomers mixed with photoinitiators such as...

It is worth mentioning that when the particle volume fraction is high enough, the three-dimensional network structure instead of fibrillated chain structure may form in ER fluids [5]. Sometimes the three-dimensional dendritic structure may form [6-8]. Figure 1 shows the microstructure of a metal/oil, glass sphere/oil, and nickel coated PMMA/oil under an electric field. Both the metal and metal coated PMMA particles form the dendritic structure, and only the glass spheres form the fibrillated chain structure. The appearance of fractal structure is believed to arise from the huge conductivity difference between the dispersed particle and the dispersed medium.

Stable uniform films were obtained by mixing closed form diarylethene 54 and fluorene 17 with poly[methylmethacrylate-co-(diethylvinylbenzyl-phosphonate)] (PMMA-co-VBP) [93]. The deep red films coated on glass... 

Samples. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) samples are industrial (Mylar) biaxially oriented films (10 pm thick). Polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) has been spin coated on microscope glasses from a PMMA (1) / CHjClj (9) solution, giving thin layers of a few hundred A thickness.
