Geophysical surveys application

Such licenses are legal documents awarded on application to companies which give them certain exclusive rights to carry out exploration and/or production work. They usually require companies to carry out stated geophysical surveys and drilling operations within a specific period of time.

ABSTRACT This report covers application of electrical tomography in combination with petrophysical modeling for identification of zones of oil contamination in oil waste disposal area. An example of application of this work for environmental studies was a project that was implemented at oil waste disposal area of Priobskoye field. The objective of geophysical surveys at the oil waste disposal area was to contour the area of dissipation of oil contamination and determination of dissipation depth. 

Research on the Engineering applications of GPS at Nottingham University is sponsored by the United Kingdom Science and Engineering Research Council, and several other commercial organizations, notably Shell, British Petroleum, the Ordnance Survey, and Thames Water Utilities Ltd. Support for research on the applications of GPS in geophysics and geodynamics is also provided by the Natural Environment Research Council and the European Community.
