Fungistatic compounds

ISO 16869, 2001. Assessment of the effectiveness of fungistatic compounds in plastics formulations. [Pg.348]

There are a number of nonspecific topical drugs, some some of which have been in use for most of this century. Early therapy of superficial mycoses utilized topical fungicides such as salicylic acid, salicylanilide, iodine tincture, and even weak fungistatic compounds such as benzoic acid. Salicylic acid is mainly a keratolytic agent that also removes the softened, loosened infected epithelial layers. In combination with benzoic acid (Whitfield s ointment), it has been a useful product for years. [Pg.298]

This cyclic hydroxamic acid (10) and the related demethoxy compound have been isolated from corn seedlings. Both compounds are fungistatic agents. [Pg.203]

Azole antifungal drugs are synthetic compounds with broad-spectrum fungistatic activity. Azoles can be divided into two groups the older imidazole agents, in which the hve-member azole nucleus contains two nitrogens, and the newer triazole compounds, fluconazole and itraconazole, in which the azole nucleus contains three nitrogens. [Pg.598]

Of the triazine compounds, the tris(2-hydroxyethyl) derivative (17) is an effective fungistat and bactericide developed to be used with emulsifiable cutting oils and coolants. The triethyl derivative (18) is used as a preservative for pigment slurries. [Pg.398]

Tin Weak evidence for ultratrace essentiality in rats Organotin compounds used as bacteriostatsand fungistats its use in anti-foulant boat paints now discouraged because of danger to estuarine and marine life. ... [Pg.1008]

He synthesized a multiplicity of new compounds (1) (2) (3) and discovered a unique series which contained the N - S bond. Unfortunately these structures possessed no insecticidal potential whatsoever. Fortunately, however, certain of these compounds were directed to a plant pathologist at Rutgers University, Dr. Robert H. Paines, (4) (5) (6) who noted exceptional fungistatic and fungicidal properties. [Pg.152]

The physiological activity of compounds of the selenophene series ensures their practical importance. Many selenophene aldehydes act bacteriostatically in vitro on acid-resistant bacteria and fungistatically... [Pg.40]

Note. The name Hexamidine is applied to a compound with antibacterial and fungistatic properties. [Pg.922]
