Fungi Rhizoctonia solani

Fenaminosulf reduces respiration in sensitive fungi. Thus, it inhibits the mitochondrial oxidation of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) in Pythium (Tolmsoff, 1962). On the other hand, in nonsensitive fungi (Rhizoctonia solani) a reductase has been identified which decomposes the active substance. But... [Pg.457]

DIMBOA (2,4-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-l, 4-benzoxazin-3-one) play an important role in the chemical defense of cereals against insects, pathogenic fungi and bacteria (Niemeyer, 1988). Researches with maize indicate thatmycorrizal colonization induced accumulation of DIMBOA and increase in transcript levels of Bx9. Concentrations of DIMBOA in maize roots inoculated both G. mosseae and Rhizoctonia solani were significantly higher than those roots inoculated separately with G. mosseae or Rhizoctonia solani. [Pg.187]

Curry leaves have been studied for their antifungal activity against three plant-pathogenic fungi, i.e. Rhizoctonia solani, R. bataticola [Macrophominaphaseolina] and Helminthosporium oryzae [Cochliobolus miyabeanus] (Ray and Srivastava, 2006). [Pg.17]

These compounds are strongly inhibitory towards Pythium ultinnim Trow and Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn, two soilbome fungi responsible for the majority of crop seed and seedling decay. A closer examination of other phytotoxin-producing soilbome fungi may yield additional mycoherbicide candidates as effective as G. virens. [Pg.282]
