Helminthosporium 77. oryzae

The organisms Pyricularia oryzae, which causes rice blast, and Helminthosporium oryzae, which causes brown leaf spot, can be controlled with complexes of the ligands 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-nitroso-2-pyrazolin-5-one (36) and 3-methyl-4-nitroso-2-pyrazolin-5-one (37). The complexes were of the type ML Xj (L = 36, 37 X = C1-, Br, N03 ) or [ML2]Y2 (Y = C104 ). The former were assigned an octahedral or distorted octahedral structure and the latter are tetrahedral. The most active nickel complex was (38).92... [Pg.1022]

A number of benzothiazole-Schiff base complexes of the type (43) have been evaluated against Helminthosporium oryzae. Complex (43) and its zinc analogue were found to show enhanced activity relative to the free ligand.106 The activity was very dependent on the substituent in the benzothiazole ring. Some analogous 4-phenylthiazole complexes of both metals were also effective,... [Pg.1023]

The zinc analogue of complex (38) is effective against Pyricularia oryzae and Helminthosporium oryzae,92 and the zinc analogue of complex (42) is active against the latter organism.106... [Pg.1026]

A significant antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli and antifungal activity on Aspergillus niger and Helminthosporium oryzae were also found for 2-(2-chloroethyl) and 2-allyl-2,3-dihydro-5-benzoyl-1/7-1,3,2-benzodiazaphosphole 2-oxides <2004CPB307>. [Pg.598]

Curry leaves have been studied for their antifungal activity against three plant-pathogenic fungi, i.e. Rhizoctonia solani, R. bataticola [Macrophominaphaseolina] and Helminthosporium oryzae [Cochliobolus miyabeanus] (Ray and Srivastava, 2006). [Pg.17]

Erosion and wax degradation also occurs in the cuticle of rice in contact with Helminthosporium oryzae germlings (AA) and the fungus produces excessive amounts of an extracellular matrix around germ tubes and appressoria. The extracellular sheath or matrix also was shown to adhere tenaciously to the cuticle and associated wax components. [Pg.225]

Aspergillus niger, Helminthosporium oryzae. The oil showed the highest antibacterial activity on Aspergillus niger wA Micrococcus luteus (69). [Pg.248]
