For some model organisms, cDNA resources are already prepared and shared in the research community. Thus, when there is a need to study about functional genomics of a model organism, a search for appropriate cDNA resources open to the public should be made first. These lines of information may be found in genomic databases and/or Web sites of publicly funded genome projects. For example, human and mouse ORF clones are available from the ORFeome collaboration (http //www.orfeomecollaboration.org/html/index.shtml).
