Freeze drier

To describe the procedure for validation of the freeze drier to ensure it meets the installation, operational, and performance qualihcation criteria [Pg.286]

It is the responsibility of the production manager, quality control manager, and technical services manager to follow the procedure. The quality assurance manager is responsible for SOP compliance. [Pg.286]

Perform the vacuum leak test with an empty freeze drier and condenser. After reaching the maximum available vacuum, the vacuum pump is switched off after a delay time and the valves are closed. Monitor the vacuum decrease for a period of 24 h. Let the condenser cool to avoid water evaporation and vacuum decrease. [Pg.286]

Maximum available vacuum meet manufacturing specihcation Vacuum decrease meet specihcation requirements [Pg.286]

Uniformity of temperature distribution across the shelves is important in order to maintain product uniformity. [Pg.286]

All production processes, such as ampoule washing and sterilization, solution filtration, equipment set-up and operation, sorting, and freeze-drier cleaning and operation, should be covered in detail in a procedure manual to ensure that all operations are understood as well as carried out properly and uniformly. Cleaning, sterilization, sterile filtration, filling, and aseptic processing operations must be validated. [Pg.413]

Sample concentration is sometimes needed to increase the analyte concentration or to eliminate the extraction solvents, which might be incompatible with the HPLC mobile phase. Evaporation is carried out in open hoods, ovens, rotary evaporators, Kuderna-Danish evaporators, freeze driers or lyophilizers. [Pg.132]

Trisammonium geranyl diphosphate will decompose if left under vacuum for extended periods. It is important to remove the sample from the freeze-drier within a few hours after water has been removed. [Pg.109]

Additional supporting documents are also included in the manufacturing records. These may include computerized print-outs from weighing equipment used to dispense chemical raw materials, or recorder charts obtained, e.g. from a freeze-drier upon completion of freeze-drying that batch of product. [Pg.111]

The consumption shall be evaluated for full time during the production day (e.g., washing machine and freeze drier). [Pg.74]

During simulated lyophilization processes, the pressure inside the freeze drier should be measured and compared with the set values. [Pg.288]

Media-hlled vials (soybean casein digest broth or fluid thioglycollate medium) are hlled on the hlling line, transported to the freeze drier, loaded into the chamber, subjected to a simulated lyophilization process, stoppered, sealed, and incubated for 14 days at 25°C. The minimum number of vials to be used is 5000. [Pg.290]

Blends of various compositions of PDMS (Mw, 650,000 M , 253,000) and PS (Mw, 100,000) were prepared by dissolution of the homopolymers in tetrahydrofuran, mixing the solutions and then rapidly removing the solvent using a freeze-drier. Blends were dried in a vacuum oven at 55 °C, sealed in... [Pg.474]

Allow 12 to 18 hr to purify proanthocyanidins on the column. Drying time will vary depending on the volume obtained and the freeze-drier that is used. [Pg.1276]

Worse-case scenario did not specify maximum time for freezer door to be open or maximum number of trays to be loaded into freeze drier. [Pg.634]

Place the solution in a container that is compatible with the freeze-drier and place in a freezer until completely frozen (e.g., overnight). [Pg.25]

Place the frozen mixture in a freeze-drier using a plate temperature of 30 °C or below. Freeze-dry until all the water has been removed (i.e., to constant weight). [Pg.25]

Harvested psilocybian mushrooms can be eaten fresh, or they can be dried, sealed and stored. The best procedure is to dry the mushrooms in a freeze-drier without heat. For most users, this is impossible, so a lamp or oven can do, as long as there is ventilation and the temperature does not exceed 90° F. in a dry atmosphere. (If you use an oven, leave the door cracked open.) A space heater can also be used. Whatever the means, the drying takes at least twenty to twenty-four hours and leaves the mushrooms in a brittle state. [Pg.344]

Thin slices of tissue are placed in clean plastic petri dishes, the loose fitting lids replaced and the dishes inserted into the chamber of the freeze drier. Blood specimens can be poured directly into the dish. It is important that the tissue be thoroughly frozen prior to evacuating the chamber. The time required for complete drying of the sample depends on the nature and weight of the material and the type of equipment employed. Drying is usually completed in 12—48h. The dried tissue is not susceptible to decay and can be stored at room temperature in sealed plastic bags. [Pg.383]
