Fonts, changing

The most commonly used methods for emphasizing text are CAPITALIZATION, bold, underline, italic, emphasis boxes, color, font changes, and white space. They are generally used to highlight critical information. Once a method of emphasizing the written material has been selected, it should be used consistently throughout the manual. No more than 10% of the material should be emphasized. [Pg.367]

There are a number of light stable isotope measurements that provide very important data in the study of paleoclimates to better understand and interpret anthropogenic contributions to present-day climate change (Fritz and Fontes 1980). These measurements involve the determination of carbon and oxygen isotopes in fresh-... [Pg.228]

Fontes et al. (1998b) studied the enantioselectivity of cutinase and found that it was very selective toward one enantiomer with an enantiomeric excess of almost 100%. They found that the enantioselectivity was very sensitive to changes in water content. Bornscheuer et al. (1992) studied hydrolysis, esterification, and transesterification in carbon dioxide to try to find the best method for producing enantiomerically pure substances in carbon dioxide. They found that the thermodynamically favored hydrolysis led to higher enantiomeric excess with less enzyme in the shortest time. Michor et al. (1996b) also examined more than one system to determine a better route to product and found that while the transesterification of -menthol was fast and resulted in high enantiomeric excess, resolution of -citronellol was not feasible. The reaction rate for the reaction of -citronellol was 10-20 times of that of -menthol, but was not selective. [Pg.115]

That was the same as it is now and ever has been. Always the congregation around music and performance, always the need for transcendence and fantasy. You can change a law overnight but it takes lifetimes to change an attitude. We weren t waiting. Partying was our font, our touchstone, it was our main reality. Under the Format menu bar are several options that make your spreadsheet more readable. With the Format/Cells... you can change the way numbers are displayed, the alignment of them within the cell, and the font properties. You can also set a border around some cells, and change the pattern or color (the Color option is inside the Pattern option). You can even protect the spreadsheet or parts of it so others cannot change it. [Pg.230]

Copy, move to the upper, left-most cell of the new area and choose Paste. Be careful because this will copy all formulas, too. If you want only the values from a spreadsheet, copy the part you want and choose Paste Special then choose the desired option (such as Value). You can also paste into Word. If you simply use Paste, you can manipulate the spreadsheet inside Word (resize it, change the font, etc.). If you use Paste Special, one option is to paste the spreadsheet as a picture. In that case the whole image is frozen before it is put into Word. [Pg.233]

Many Excel settings can be personalized in Tools => Options => General. Here you can specify, e.g., the number of files listed upon clicking on File, and change the Standard font (e.g., from Arial to more easily readable serif font such as Times New Roman) to perhaps a different font Size. Here you can also set the Default file location (from C My Documents) and even define another Alternate startup file location. [Pg.36]
