Fomblin oil

Three series of products are used as lubricants silicone-oils or polytrifluoro-propyl methyl siloxane (Silastic 15-53 produced by the Dow Corning Company), perfluorinated polyethers (Fomblin, Montedison now Ausimont Company) and Kel F oils (3 M Company). Only these latter ones are obtained directly by telomerisation. 

Perfluoro polyethers (Fomblin) (Krytox ) (3 x IO 8) If exposed to too much heat, decomposes to a gas rather than breaking down. Is resistant to oxidation and chemically resistant with few exceptions. No polymers are formed under energetic particle bombardment. Can be regenerated for reuse. Provides somewhat lower pumping speeds than other oils. High initial cost. Above 300 - 350°C, breaks down into aggressive and toxic compounds. To effectively remove it, chlorofluorocarbons must be used. 

The polycondensate of Fomblin and 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl amine prepared by Moore [3] was used to provide resistance to water, oil, and stain repellency to a substrate or fabric. De Dominicis [4] used mono and difunctional perfluoropolyether phosphates and amidosilane derivatives as antistaining agents for ceramic materials. 

The j ratio for a given metastable transition does not appear to be limited. Warburton et al. [140a,b,c] were able to generate a veritable family tree , starting with the m/z 1165 ion, belonging to the El spectrum of oil of fomblin, a polyfluorinated polyether ...

However, both these systems are heterogeneous because Au/(Ci )2/N03 is only partially soluble in Fomblin MF-300 and completely insoluble in Galden D-02 (perfluorinated oil). In Fomblin MF-3(Xr the catalyst partially dissolves when CEES is added because the Au(III) precursor, TEAAUCI2, is soluble. With the co-catalyst activity of Cu(II) in acetonitrile in mind, the sulfate salts of Fe(III), Cu(II), Mn(II), V(IV), Ti(IV), Co(II), and Ni(II) were also evaluated in Fomblin MF-300 . A synergistic effect is observed when all of these redox active metals are added to the Au/NOs ...
