Sennae folium

Cape Aloe jB = Cortex Frangulae (7 = Cortex Rhamni Purshianae D = Rhizoma Rhei E = Folia Sennae. The spot colours quoted were obtained with the untreated chromatogram by inspection in UV light... [Pg.708]

For severe vacuity weakness, subtract Rhubarb and add a small amount of Folium Sennae Fan Xie Ye). [Pg.35]

Formulas that promote bowel movement containing harsh herbs such as Da Huang (Rhei rhizoma), Fan Xie Ye [Sennae folium) and Mang Xiao (Natrii sulfas) move downward, and should be used with caution. [Pg.30]

Alexandrian Senna Pods Aniseed Arnica Flower Bearberry Leaf Cape Aloes Can/i fructus Centaurii herba Crataegi folium cum flore Dandelion Root Echinaceae pallidae radix Eucalypti aetheroieum Fennel... [Pg.20]

Tinnevelly Senna Pods Urticae folium/herba... [Pg.21]

Examples of how the composition is listed include Sennae folium, 415-500 mg, corresponding to 12.5 mg of hydroxyanthracene glycosides, calculated as Sennoside B or Valerianae radix 900 mg. [Pg.404]

SENNA LEAF, Sennae folium The dried leaflets of both of the Senna species are also used medicinally. The leaves of both contain the same amount (not less than 2.5%) of anthracenes and for this reason Pharmacopoeias permit the use of either species or of a mixture of the leaves of both the Alexandrian and Tinnevelly types. [Pg.54]

This method is generally useful for the separation of drug extracts containing a high proportion of ballast substances, e.g. mucilages from Sennae folium. [Pg.55]

In Sennae folium extract (2) a R, value depression of sennoside A and specifically of sennoside B occur, caused by the mucilages also extracted from the plant material with. 50% methanol. To avoid this effect the circular TLC method can be used (see Fig. 9). Senno, side D (R, — 0,5,5) is more highly concentrated in. Sennae folium extracts (2) tlian in Sennae fructus extracts (1). Senno, side C can be localized at R, — 0.7. Rhein is detectable as a yellow zone at R, 0.8 and its 8-0-glucoside is found between scnno.side D and C. [Pg.68]

Sennae folium (upper Segment) A sennoside A 0 sennoside D... [Pg.70]

The CTLC of Sennae folium und Sennae fructus shows as two prominent circle, sennoside A and B (—> test A/B) in the inner parts of both segments. The bands of sennoside D (—>D) and C are found slightly below the aloin test (—> test Al). Rhein (tc.st Rh) is clearly. seen in Sennae fructus extracts. The influence of mucilagines on the R, value of. sennoside B results in a dwelling circle (CTLC) and causes an R, value depression in the picture of the ascending TLC (compare with Pig.s. 7,8). [Pg.70]

For analysis of sennoside,s in. Sennae folium or fructus, the. solvent. system and detection method descriped in Fig, 7, 8, chap, 2) should be used. [Pg.356]
