Flower with pistil

Splendour. This aims at the beauty of colours and their changes. The multi petalled flower with pistil which was completed by G.Aoki belongs to this type. Generally, to obtain the same visibility effect the high class brilliancy is avoided, and to obtain the relief effect the petals are of cold colour, weaic stream(s,r) or flash(j ) and the pistils are of a v/arm colour. 

Loneliness "Flower of winter" by M.Hosoya may be presented as an example. This is a double petalled flower with pistils. Stars of low brilliancy are used under weak contrast, and they produce loneliness in sight. (Fig.16),...

The light of the flare is rather pale and the smoke lines are yellow, but we don t sense the colours, merely the contrast between the brilliancies rather like a black and white drawing. Another of the extremes may be the "Flower in the Sunset", which is a smoke flower with red stars of high brilliancy as the pistils. In this case only the red of the pistils meikes a deep impression, and any coloured smoke red, yellow, green, blue or violet can serve as petals because it has only an auxiliary effect against the pistils. 

Fig.12 shows an example of development of single petalled flower with a pistil. 

Moderation. A flower of warm colour and a weak contrast gives us a moderate feeling. For example, a yellow petalled flower with red pistil, a flower of mixed colours (yellow and red) etc.

Description Herbaceous annual with a taproot. Stems 20-100 cm tall, pubescent. Leaves ovate-rhomboid, apex obtuse. Inflorescence a dense panicle bracts lanceolate. Flowers unisexual. Pistillate flowers with 5 tepals and 3 stigmas. Staminate flowers at top of inflorescence tepals 5, stamens 3-5. Seeds shiny black, lenticular, contained in circumscissile utricles. 

Grape vines climb by means of cylindrical-tapering tendrils and bear greenish flowers. Some plants bear perfect flowers, others bear only staminate flowers with rudimentary pistils. 

In castor growing regions, the castor plants grown vary from semiwild accessions to hybrids bred for specific traits. Each castor raceme bears male (stami-nate) and female (pistillate) flowers, with the male flowers on the lower portion of the raceme and the female flowers above. Proportions of male to female flowers vary and can be affected by a number of conditions (Severino et al., 2012 Tan et al., 2013) including temperature, hormone treatment, or wounding, as well as cnltivar variation. Cultivars that produce only staminate or pistillate flowers are natnrally desired for breeding hybrid castor, and there are several such cultivars (Tan et al., 2013). 

The male and the female reproductive organs are together in one plant, but in separate flowers. Normally, plants produce hermaphrodite flowers with male (stamina) and female (pistil) organs in the same flower. Examples for m. plants are pine or hazelnut. The opposite is - dioecious. 

Materials required Flowering plants of knights star (Hippeastrum hybridum,) vessels for allelochemicals for moistening the pistil or pollen with allelochemicals.
