This study shows the significant benefits of an MLP pump in handling shear-sensitive CMP slurries in single-pass applications and under normal turnovers ( 100) expected in a typical fab operation. Since, the MLC pump generated far fewer >lpm particles in shear-sensitive slurries, the filter lifetime for MLC pump-based slurry delivery systems should be longer than the other AOD or bellows pump-based systems, especially when relatively open (> 1 pm nominal rating) filters are used in the global loop and point-of-use (POU) locations. [Pg.621]

A process based on a nickel catalyst, either supported or Raney type, is described ia Olin Mathieson patents (26,27). The liquid was applied and dried on cellulose filter (diameter 25 mm). In the present work as an analytical signal we took the relative intensity of analytical lines. This approach reduces non-homogeneity and inequality of a probe. Influence of filter type and sample mass on features of the procedure was studied. The dependence of analytical lines intensity from probe mass was linear for most of above listed elements except Ca presented in most types of filter paper. The relative intensities (reduced to one of the analysis element) was constant or dependent from mass was weak in determined limits. This fact allows to exclude mass control in sample pretreatment. For Ca this dependence was non-linear, therefore, it is necessary to correct analytical signal. Analysis of thin layer is characterized by minimal influence of elements hence, the relative intensity explicitly determines the relative concentration. In general, the longer the sweep time the better the sensitivity since the filter time constant parameter can be set longer with consequent improvement in signal-to-noise ratio. When using fluorophores of known lifetime, it is important to validate the lifetime used. Fluorescence lifetimes can be sensitive to concentration, temperature, pH, and other environmental variables. Fluorophores from different suppliers can have variable purity. As a result, one should not assume that a value reported in the literature will be exactly transferable to other labs and conditions. Users of the method should be particularly careful to use low concentrations of fluorophore (<10 /iM) to avoid a variety of processes which can perturb lifetimes in solution. There are a limited number of well characterized fluorophores. If one is not available for a particular wavelength this will require a change of filters leaving the method with nothing to recommend it over reflection and scatter. [Pg.89]

The accuracy with which a system can measure lifetimes depends on a number of different factors including calibration of the instrument, the number of detected photons and also the efficiency of the analysis routines. In addition, sources of background and scattered light should be eliminated. Emission filters should be chosen with great care to make sure that no scattered laser light reaches the detector. Detection of scattered excitation light results in a spurious fast component in the decay and complicates the interpretation of the data. The choice of emission filters is much more critical in FLIM than in conventional fluorescence intensity imaging methods. [Pg.130]
