Feedstock properties, role

The properties of the zeolite play a significant role in the overall performance of the catalyst. Understanding these properties increases our ability to predict catalyst response to changes in unit operation. From its inception in the catalyst plant, the zeolite must retain its catalytic properties under the hostile conditions of the FCC operation. The reaclor/regenerator environment can cause significant changes in chemical and structural composition of the zeolite. In the regenerator, for instance, the zeolite is subjected to thermal and hydrothermal treatments. In the reactor, it is exposed to feedstock contaminants such as vanadium and sodium. 

The principle is to have about three steps the first with specific properties to capture the antibody from the crude feedstock, the second to separate impurities, and the third to play a polishing role with properties to remove traces of peculiar agents such as nucleic acids and endotoxins, and able to add virus clearance. 

The CO2 reforming of methane is an attractive process since it consumes two greenhouse gases and produces important feedstock that can be further processed to methanol or to higher hydrocarbons by the Fischer-Tropsch methodology. It is often suggested that the process can have a role in converting C02-rich natural gas from remote sources into liquid fuels with better transportation properties than those of natural gas itself 95... 

The objective of this study is to apply pretreatments based on aqueous ammonia on feedstocks of varying physical and stmctural properties and seek insights on how the pretreatment effects are influenced by definable parameters. The optimum conditions were defined for diiferent feedstocks, and the investigation was focused on the pretreatment region near optimum condition. Special attention was paid to the role of xylan and its removal by external xylanase in the enzymatic hydrolysis of biomass. 

Solvent extraction is very pertinent to the liquefaction of coal in the presence of a solvent and especially to the more recent concept of coprocessing coal with a variety of other feedstocks snch as heavy oils, tar sand bitumen, and residua (Chapters 18 and 19) (Speight, 2007,2008). There have been many attempts to define solvent behavior in terms of one or more physical properties of the solvent and not without some degree of success. However, it is essential to note that the properties of the coal also play an important role in defining behavior of a solvent, and it has been reported that the relative solvent powers of two solvents may be reversed from one coal type to another. 

Thermolysis plays an important role in dealing with the enormous amounts of plastics waste produced all over the world and decreases the negative impact of waste on the environment. Plastics waste may be converted into economically valuable hydrocarbons, which can be used both as fuels and feedstocks in the petrochemical industry. End-product yields and properties depend on the composition of the plastics waste. 

This paper examines specific roles of various constituent oxides on the hydrolysis and condensation reactions that underpin the properties and performance of high silica geopolymer binder systems. Geopolymer systems formulated to high Si/AI ratios provide an ideal system for this form of analysis given their potential for mainstream engineering applications. For this study, specific emphasis was placed on the roles of silica and alkali species present in the feedstock material and their impact on mechanical properties such as early strength development.
