False form

Fossils that have been replaced with minerals are called pseudomorphs. This word means false form, referring to the specimen that has the form of one thing, but the composition of something else. Most fossil pseudomorphs are made of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz). 

The air jet textured yam process is based on overfeeding a yam into a turbulent air jet so that the excess length forms into loops that are trapped in the yam stmcture. The air flow is unheated, turbulent, and asymmetrically impinges the yam. The process includes a heat stabilization zone. Key process variables include texturing speed, air pressure, percentage overfeed, filament linear density, air flow, spin finish, and fiber modulus (100). The loops create visual and tactile aesthetics similar to false twist textured and staple spun yams. 

Eye Makeup. Siace antiquity, eye makeup preparations have been used to beautify the area surrounding the eye. Various forms of eye shadows color the eyeHd mascaras color and lengthen the eyelashes eyeliners delineate the portion of the eyeHd from which the eyelashes emerge. The appearance of eyebrows can be altered with various types of makeup, and, finally, false eyelashes and eyebrows have been marketed for years. 

Our survey of the activities of the Government, industry and voluntary bodies in the control of pollution discloses several issues which need further enquiry. In bacteria this intermediate is produced by enzymatic condensation of the pteridine, 86, with para-amino-benzoic acid (87). It has been shown convincingly that sulfanilamide and its various derivatives act as a false substrate in place of the enzymatic reaction that is, the sulfonamide blocks the reaction by occupying the site intended for the benzoic acid. The lack of folic acid then results in the death of the microorganism. Mammals, on the other hand, cannot synthesize folic acid instead, this compound must be ingested preformed in the form of a vitamin. Inhibition of the reaction to form folic acid Ls thus without effect on these higher organisms. 

Materials with hard oxides, including stainless steels and aluminum and titanium alloys, are particularly susceptible to this form of attack. In steel, it is also known as false Brinelling because of the high surface hardness that can be created in work-hardening grades. 

It is sometimes necessary to assist the distribution of air from the cooler by installing air ducting. This can take the form of individual ducts, but these are prone to damage from fork-lift trucks. Alternatively, a full or partial false ceiling, below the insulated surface. 

When iron rusts, it combines with oxygen of the air to form iron oxide, FeaOj. Which of the following is FALSE ...

Equilibrium Compositions for Single Reactions. We turn now to the problem of calculating the equilibrium composition for a single, homogeneous reaction. The most direct way of estimating equilibrium compositions is by simulating the reaction. Set the desired initial conditions and simulate an isothermal, constant-pressure, batch reaction. If the simulation is accurate, a real reaction could follow the same trajectory of composition versus time to approach equilibrium, but an accurate simulation is unnecessary. The solution can use the method of false transients. The rate equation must have a functional form consistent with the functional form of K,i,ermo> e.g., Equation (7.38). The time scale is unimportant and even the functional forms for the forward and reverse reactions have some latitude, as will be illustrated in the following example.

Radioactive molecules can sometimes be formed by the processes normally involved in the separation. Foremost among these are (1) exchange in the solvent prior to chromatography and (2) thermal reaction during sublimation. Both lead to false results the second is easily eliminated, the first is often not. As an illustration of the effect of sublimation, it was found (61) that the yield of W(CO)g separated by vacuum sublimation at 50° C was 63.8%. The same irradiation conditions yielded 51.8% when the samples were first chromatographed and then sublimed. Evidence for similar effects was found in (PhH)2Cr (75), RuCpj (29) and others. Simple dissolution to break up the lattice, followed by evaporation and sublimation is usually considered satisfactory to eliminate thermal recombination of initially correlated pairs of reactants.

False. In the UK it is illegal to give alcohol to those under five years of age except for medical reasons. It is therefore legal for those over five to drink alcohol at home. However, if parents allowed excessive use it could be considered a form of neglect or abuse in the eyes of the law.
