Fabricating processes flow chart

As can be seen from the process flow chart (Fig. 3.1), in order to fabricate and assemble a resorbable biotextile device, a resorbable polymer has to withstand exposure to a range of potentially hazardous environments, such as thermal processing, mechanical abrasion, chemical treatment (lubricants, solvents, binders etc.), and atmospheric conditions, which include relative humidity. Each of these factors can drastically affect the rate of resorption and can cause premature degradation of the resorbable implant. [Pg.21]

The generic process for fabrication of fiber-reinforced aluminum oxide matrix composites by directed metal oxidation includes preforming, fiber-matrix interface coating, matrix growth and removal of residual aluminum. A flow chart with the various processing steps is shown in Fig, 1. [Pg.278]

In the flow chart shown in Fig. 1.15 for the fabrication of ceramics from powders, we can divide the processing steps into two parts processes prior to the firing... [Pg.28]

Tool When processing plastics some type of tooling is required. Tools include molds, dies, mandrels, jigs, fixtures, punch dies, perforated forms, etc. These tools febricate or shape products. They fit into the overall flow chart in fabricating plastic products. The terms for tools are virtually... [Pg.540]

Coarse wool and long-staple synthetic fibers, especially polyamide and polyacrylonitrile, are processed with the mock-worsted spinning method. Mock-worsted yarns have an appearance similar to that of combed yarns and are used in textile floor coverings, decoration and furniture fabrics, blankets, craft knitting yarns, and technical products. Figure 3.35 shows a flow chart for the mock-worst spinning method. [Pg.129]
