The expressed genome or transcriptome referring to the part of the genome that is expressed in a cell at a specific stage in its development.

Cell-based systems are biology s way of dividing the expressed genome into functional units. In drag discovery, a focus on specific cell systems, such as T-cells and fibroblasts for assembly of human immunodeficiency vims or herpes simplex vims particles and endothelial cells for demonstrating adhesion-dependent processes, often provides convenient primary dmg screening systems. 

The two ways genome content may be reported are in absolute amounts and in arbitrary units. When expressing genome size in absolute terms, various units may be employed. The most common unit is pico-grams (1 pg is equal to 10 12 g). Other units that may be used are daltons and nucleotide pairs. One is able to convert from one unit to another based on the following equations 1 nucleotide pair = 660 daltons, and 1 pg = 0.965 X 109 nucleotide pairs. It should be noted that these conversions are only estimates and should be considered accordingly.

However, therapeutic antibodies to selectively expressed, genomics-or proteomics-provided targets, such as antigens in tumors, enter clinical trials for many cancer forms very rapidly. One makes humanized or human antibodies, by different methods, which either carry something or act on their own. These are safe. They are often efficacious. But they are difficult to administer you have to inject them. They work in small indications, and they are perfect for small companies. The first Biotech company to make money in San Diego, IDEC Pharmaceuticals, did just this quite successfully, well enough later to buy Biogen and move to Boston in 2003.
