European Abstracts Substances

Notes PM Ref, European Commission substance reference number CAS no, American Chemical Society, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) registry number. [Pg.577]

The data presented in Table 9.4 are comparisons of the different list to the European Union list. The comparisons concern all substances with an EU OEL except substances without Chemical abstracts number (CAS) and asbestos, the latter due to it being regulated as number of fibres rather than a concentration. After these restrictions 102 substances are left. No national list includes all of the substances on the EU list, although Finland has 101 of 102 possible matches. Most European countries have about 90 substances in common with the EU list. [Pg.139]

Industrial use of a Grignard reagent in the United States requires that it be included on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) list of Chemical Substances in Commerce. A corresponding registration exists for the European Community and for Japan. Table 1 gives the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) numbers of those listed by the EPA as of 1994. [Pg.86]

The synonyms of carbonyl chloride fluoride are carbonic chloride fluoride (currently used in Chemical Abstracts), carbonyl chlorofluoride, and monofluorophosgene. The Chemical Abstracts Registry No. is [353-49-1]. COCIF is included in the European inventory of existing chemical substances (EINECS) [602a], since it was included in the core inventory [602] its EINECS number is 206-533-7. No fuli-scale commercial synthesis of COCIF has ever been operated. [Pg.686]

The Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) registry numbers for limestone, CaC03 and MgCOs are 1317-65-3, 471-34-1 and 546-93-0 respectively. The EINECS (European Inventory of Existing Commercial Substances) reference for limestone is 207-439-9. [Pg.18]

Abstract This chapter introduces the European Union (EU) and discusses some of its directives and regulations. Today the EU has some of the most progressive environmental policies in the world that extend to all areas of environmental protection. Some of these areas are air pollution control, water protection, waste management, and the control of chemicals. This chapter includes information about the End of Life Vehicles Directive (ELV), the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS), and the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE). The EU regulation called Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is described too. [Pg.89]
