Most new patent cases of interest are pubHshed by at least one of the U.S., European, or Japanese patent offices, and WIPO (PCT). Japan presents problems for those not able to read Japanese, but the U.S. Official Ga tte (with representative claims) and PCT Ga tte (with English-language abstracts) can be in one s hands within a week of patent pubHcation. Similar timing is available for the European Patent Office bulletin which contains trilingual tides and the on-line EPAT file and various CD-ROM products. A highly effective alerting program can be developed from a combination of these methods. [Pg.58]

ABSTRACT This paper reports the further development of a Guideline (formerly Protocol) for sampling and analysis of tars from biomass producer gases. This Guideline is being developed in a project in the European Fifth Framework Programme with additional partners from Switzerland and North America. [Pg.162]

The Introduction (overleaf) sets the scene for the approach I am taking in this chapter. I use a strong philosophical framework to sequence the topic in an order to develop abstract notions after establishing the chemical phenomena. The chapter is based on the outcomes of a European project, History and Philosophy in Science Teaching (HIPST), in which I created and elaborated the ideas, working with a group of teachers and their classes. [Pg.183]

Polyester acrylates produced by direct esterification or transesterification of residual hydroxyls are lower viscosity and thus offer a handling advantage. Due to the strong polyester use in Europe, these products were primarily developed by European suppliers. Properties of these resins can vary significantly depending on the raw material selection. Cure speed is generally slower than epoxy acrylates possibly due to their inability to form carbinyl radicals via hydrogen abstraction. [Pg.334]
