Enhanced green fluorescence protein EGFP

Also, the Phe-64 -> Leu and Ser-65 —> Thr mutant shows higher fluorescence parameters than that of the wild GFP. Excitation at 458 nm yields a fluorescence spectrum with two peaks at 512 and 530 nm. The fluorescence properties of this enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) were found to be similar to the recombinant glutathione S-transferase-EGFP (GST-EGFP) protein, expressed in Escherichia coli (Cinelli etal. 2004). 

Different-sized plasmid DNA may be used to create these polymer/DNA particles. For easy visual inspection of gene expression and quantitative cell population information enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) DNA is often used. For high-throughput screening applications, luciferase (Luc) DNA is often used instead.

Regional lymph nodes were removed 36 h after injection. The flow cytometric analysis of the crude lymph node cell suspension showed that 1.2% of the cells expressed the enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) in comparison to cells from untreated controls (Fig. 4a). 

The three-dimensional network of actin stress fiber, which is an association of actin filaments, provides mechanical support for the cell, determines the cell shape, and enables cell movement. Thus the shape change in the cell due to the laser tsunami can be examined by observing the laser-induced dynamics of fibers. The actin stress fiber was visualized by binding it with enhanced green fluorescence protein (EGFP), and monitored by total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) imaging [34].

Very recently, a significant influence of the redox state of the metallocene in ferrocene-containing cationic lipids was demonstrated. In the neutral ferrocene state, high levels of transfection with DNA coding for enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) were observed similar to standard transfection reagents.
