Oversizing might lead to increased cost of both purchase of equipment and energy consumption compared to a more energy efficient design. 

The annual energy saving is calculated as 44 kEUR for the friction hoist by selecting the motor cooling fan with VSD, energy efficient design motor and main transformer. The total energy efficient improvements payback time is calculated as 3.3 years, see Table 12.
