Emission inventory source regulation

The IPPC Directive was brought into effect at the end of 1999. Since then, member states have gradually adopted national regulations to comply with the IPPC Directive, including a national inventory of emission data to be reported to the commission. An inventory of principal emissions and sources responsible has to be published by the commission every three years based on data supplied by the member states. [Pg.9]

The CAA contains specific provisions for nonattainment areas and requires States to develop SIPs to implement these provisions to attain and maintain the NAAQS in those areas. The SIPs are air quality plans which include an analysis of the sources of pollution (emission inventory), a strategy to attain and maintain the NAAQS by reducing emissions from key sources (attainment or maintenance demonstration), and enforceable regulations to carry out the strategy. [Pg.17]

When developing a greenhouse gas inventory, emissions are often categorized as Scope 1, Scope 2, or Scope 3. Each scope of emissions indicates the relative amount of control that the airport has over the sources of emissions and, potentially, how the emissions may be regulated.
