Prof. Dr. Richard K. Coll worked as a lecturer in chemistry in the Pacific and Caribbean before he was appointed a professor of cooperative education at the University of Waikato (New Zealand). His research is in the area of science education and cooperative and work-integrated education. He is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor for teaching and learning at the University of Waikato. 

Prof. Dr. Ingo Eilks was a high school teacher for chemistry and mathematics and then became appointed a professor for chemistry education at the University of Bremen (Germany). His research interests encompass curriculum development in the field of societal-oriented science education, education for sustainable development, cooperative learning in science, teachers beliefs and knowledge, as well as action research in science education.
