With the publication of Vol. 51 we should also like to refer to editorial policy this series publishes invited, critical review articles of new developments in all areas of Polymer Science in English (authors may naturally also include works of their own). The responsible editor, that means the editor who has invited the article, discusses the scope of the review with the author on the basis of a tentative outline which the author is asked to provide. Author and editor are responsible for the scientific quality of the contribution the editor s name appears at the end of it. Manuscripts must be submitted, in content, language and form satisfactory, to Springer-Verlag. Figures and formulas should be reproducible. To meet readers wishes, the publisher adds to each volume a volume index which approximately characterizes the content. [Pg.228]

The entries of this index were derived directly by computer program from the lists of references. The accuracy of the references was the sole responsibility of the authors. No editorial check, except for format and journal-title abbreviation, was applied. Consequently, errors occurring in authors names in the references will recur in this index. [Pg.570]

Dr. L. T. Capell has again compiled the subject index. The editorial assistance rendered by Edgar E. Dickey and Mary Grace Blair has been greatly appreciated. Dr. Claude S. Hudson has given invaluable aid in the editing of this and the preceding volume. [Pg.8]

As with any work of this type, this book is a result of a collective effort of many people. The editors thank all the authors for their excellent contributions. We are indebted to Ms. Frances Powers, Commissioning Editor of Rapra Technology, for her support in the course of the work during last three years. Many thanks go to Ms. Claire Griffiths and Ms. Sandra Hall for transforming the manuscripts into book format, and to all members of RAPRA editorial group. We would also like to thank Ms. Caroline Barlow who prepared the Index. Lastly, thanks to the family members of the editors, without whose help and understanding the book could not come to completion. [Pg.655]

The editor-in-chief takes pleasure in thanking his colleagues on the Editorial and Advisory Boards for their help in preparing this volume. Miss Janet D. Scott has been particularly helpful, as she has handled all the problems of nomenclature and indexing. The editor wishes also to thank Mrs. John Maisch for her help in preparing the manuscript, and Daryle H. Busch, without whose excellent help this project could not have been completed for many months. [Pg.224]

The original edition of Plastics Surface and Finish was an attempt to review progress towards this objective—a book of some 242 pages (not including the Index) published in London by Butterworths in 1971 and prepared jointly by Dr S. H. Pinner and the present editor (editorial credit was settled by placing the surnames in alphabetical order). It contained contributed chapters as follows ... [Pg.338]

The editors would like to thank all the chapter authors and reviewers who contributed to this project. In particular, we would like to thank our colleagues in Columbus who provided assistance with all the style guidelines in the book, namely, Toddmichael Janiszewski, Diane Needham, Ram Ramaswami Ravi, Teresa Schleifer, and Joe Yurvati. A special thank you goes to Betsy Kulamer and Paula M. Berard for their skilled editorial efforts. We certainly could not have completed this project without their capable assistance. We want to thank Sue Nedrow, who prepared an in-depth index that we think will be very useful to the readers. We also wish to express our appreciation to Bob Hauserman at the ACS for his suggestions and help. [Pg.443]

This year, following a consultation exercise involving members of the Editorial Board, and partly in the interest of getting the Volume published as soon as possible after the end of the year being reviewed, the Index is less comprehensive than formerly. It now includes only systematic heterocyclic ring system names. Thus, wherever a pyrrole is discussed, that would be indexed under pyrroles wherever pyrido[3,4-i]indoles are mentioned an indexed entry under that name will be found similarly aceanthryleno[l,2-e][l,2,4]triazines , azirines , 2f/-pyran-2-ones , 1,2,4-triazoles etc. etc. are listed. But, subjects like 4-ethyl-5-methylpyrrole , 5-acylazirines , 6-alkyl-2//-pyran-2-ones , 3-alkylamino-l,2,4-triazoles , are not listed as such in the Index. Diels-Alder reaction or Fleck coupling etc., are also not indexed. [Pg.484]

Dr. Stanley Peat, of the University of Birmingham, has continued to render assistance as associate editor for the British Isles. Dr. C. S. Hudson has again very materially assisted in the editing of this volume. The subject index has been compiled by Dr. L. T. Capell. Valuable editorial assistance has been rendered by Mr. Donald 0. Hoffman. [Pg.432]
