In US-A-4570329 a method for fabricating a backside contacted mosaic detector array is claimed. A cold weldable metal is used both as a means for fastening the array to a circuit board and as a means for providing electrical contacts. This arrangement allows closer detector packing compared with arrays using over the edge contacts. The detector array is claimed separately in US-A-4695861.

Sockets and slots on the motherboard are as plentiful and varied as processors. The three most popular are the Socket 5, Socket 7, and the Single Edge Contact Card (SECC). Socket 5 and Socket 7 CPU sockets are basically flat and have several rows of holes arranged in a square. The SECC connector is just another type of slot, but one that an Intel Pentium II or Pentium El-class processor can be inserted into (as shown in Eigure 2.8). To illustrate which socket type is used for which processors, examine Table 2.1. 

Small crystals are usually more soluble than large ones. Ions at comers and edges contact more solvent and dissolve faster. 

Analyses were performed on serum samples containing a mixture of goat [gC, mouse IgG, human IgG. and chicken IgY antibodies (0-125 ng/mL). In this assay, the target analytes were also antibodies (IgG and gY). and so the capture and detection antibodies were antibodies toward antibodies (anti-IgG aqd anti-lgY). Analyte solutions were added to the sensor well, followed by a mixture of detection antibodies. To perform the electrochemical measurements, the biosensor was connected to a multichannel computer-controlled po-tentiostai via the edge contacts of the array, and current measurements were made on all eight working electrodes. 

Specific surface load (SSL) theory is an extension of SEL theory and it assumes that the energy is transferred to the fibre bundles during the short edge-to-edge contact phase as well as during the edge-to-surface phase (Lumiainen, 1990). By combining these two, SSL is defined as shown in Equation (13.6), where Equation (13.7) holds ... 

Electrodes are symmetrically arranged in a vertical plane, the total angle between them being 60° and with opposing faces vertical and 4.0 0.1 mm apart on the specimen surface. Force exerted on the surface by the electrode is 1.0 0.05 N. Position the electrodes so that the chisel edges contact the specimen at a 60° angle and the chisel faces are parallel in the vertical plane and are separated by 4 0.2 mm.

Resistance against creep of PTFE material is achieved by limiting both average and edge contact stresses under both permanent and total loads. The AASHTO LRFD specifications limit unconfined unfilled PTFE average contact stress to 1500 psi under permanent service load and 2500 psi under total...

For confined sheet PTFE, AASHTO LRFD Article 14.7.2.4 limits average contact stress for permanent loads to 3.0 ksi and average contact stress for all loads to 4.5 ksi at the service limit state. Edge contact stress for all loads at the service limit state is further limited to 5.5 ksi. 

Edge contact stress is evaluated by calculating the moment induced in the polyether urethane disc element due to the maximum service limit state rotation. This moment is transferred through the PTFE by contact stresses.
