Dust and dirt

The limitation to disk constmctions with a laser beam reflected at the disk surface is a large drawback, however. This prevents the insensitivity against dust and dirt, which is well known from current optical storage devices with a laser beam reflected after penetration of the transparent substrate. 

Totally enclosed motors offer the greatest protection against moisture, corrosive vapors, dust, and dirt. Totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) motors are the obvious choice rather than weather-protected below 186.5 kW (250 hp). Their internal and external ventilating air are kept separate external air never gets inside except for the small amount that enters by breathing. 

Totally enclosed motors offer the highest degree of protection against moisture, corrosive vapors, dust, and dirt. TEWAC motors also have the advantage of reduced noise level. 

In the forcc-ventilated or drip-proof types, the cooling air passes directly over the motor winding insulation. As a rule of thumb, a motor requires about 4,000 cfm of cooling air per thousand horsepower. Therefore, the possibilities of airborne dust and dirt collecting on the winding must he considered carefully. Filters in the air intake will lessen the hazards of this condition. Not much can be done about moisture drawn in with the cooling air, but careful selection of motor location inside ihe shelter can minimize the amount of wind-blown rain striking the motor. 

Large covers give easy access to valve gear, exclude dust and dirt. 

The slushing material finds its most useful application on big machinery requiring protection of large areas during storage or during intervals of idleness in machine shops. The effect of dust and dirt contamination should therefore be considered an important factor in assessing the quality of these materials. 

Skin contact with dust and dirt containing lead occurs every day. Some cosmetics and hair dyes contain lead compounds. However, not much lead can get into your body through your skin. Leaded gasoline contains a lead compound that may be quickly absorbed. 

In some cases children swallow nonfood items such as paint chips these may contain very large amounts of lead, particularly in and around older houses that were painted with lead-based paint. The paint in these houses often chips off and mixes with dust and dirt. Some old paint is 5-40% lead. Also, compared to adults, a bigger proportion of the amount of lead swallowed will enter the blood in children. 

The numbers of the spots are automatically counted by using the software. Subsequently, false spots such as dust and dirt are manually removed. 

Sometimes I even perform abstract divination where, in my mind, I scatter dust and dirt into the wind and visualize the resultant color. The beauty of the resultant colors gives me ideas as to the favorableness of a certain action. For example, a pretty violet symmetrical pattern is favorable, but a muddy, dark, congealed mess is unfavorable. I know this sounds quite weird, but again, it probably works because I subconsciously access information that doesn t quite break through into my conscious mind. 

However, for routine problems such as excess dust and dirt ingress into HVAC and similar types of cooling systems, which can normally be shut down for a few hours during a weekend, these self-cleaning filters may present a simple and economic solution to the problem. 

The source of most sludges and other foulants, however, is from the surrounding environment. Air-blown leaves, sand, dust, and dirt, the infiltration of microbiological organisms, the air scrubbing effects of the cooling... 

The product needs to be stored in cool well-ventilated conditions, well away from direct sunlight. It can be effective in relatively simple clean cooling systems but is of limited benefit in hard-working industrial systems, where dust and dirt and high alkalinity conditions may prevail. An example of peracetic acid is Bellacide 375 from Great Lakes Chemical Corporation. 

Recrystallisation of quantities of materials less than 1 mg (group (3)) is carried out in melting point or capillary tubes (e.g. 1.5 mm diameter), and is a much simpler operation than might be imagined. All manipulations should be carried out on a bench top covered with a piece of white glazed card or opaque glass. This ensures that all dust and dirt may be immediately observed and removed, and that the glass apparatus does not accidentally pick up dirt, bench polish, etc., small quantities of which could seriously contaminate the product. 

Chemical fixation is not the only factor that causes loss or irreversible masking of antigens. Treatments such as dehydration and embedding following fixation also play a role in the loss of immunorecognition of antigens. Absolute ethanol and xylene must not contain traces of water, and the water bath should be very free from contaminants such as bacteria, fungi, dust, and dirt. Once the sections are contaminated, they cannot be decontaminated. 

When visiting a laboratory, note if elemental analysis areas are free of dust and dirt from handling soil samples. A dirty trace element analysis laboratory is a bad laboratory. 

In order to keep dust and dirt out of the inside of the motor, the internal cooling circuit is closed to the surroundings. The air in the internal cooling circuit can be circulated either by a fan driven via the motor shaft, or by auxiliary ventilators. In the first case, cooling power is speed-dependent. This cooling concept is normally used for fixed-speed motors, as their speed is constant in this case cooling power is also constant.
