Duplexer tuning

FIGURE 20.67 Test setup for duplexer tuning using a spectrum analyzer. [Pg.2227]

Streptavidin-single-stranded DNA covalent conjugates were described as the building blocks for assembling nanostructured scaffolds [31], The amount and type of biotinylated ligands were used to modulate the affinity of duplex formation between solid-phase-bound nucleic acid templates and DNA-streptavidin conjugates. This system has been proposed for the design of fine-tuned sequence detection systems. [Pg.434]

Fig. 16. The conventional duplexer. Zq = 50 1. The characteristic impedance of the A/2 line from the branching point B to the preamplifier port is Z = 200 ft. The parallel capacitances of the crossed diode packages D, D2, D4, and are tuned by matched coils to 270 MHz that of Dj is tuned to 258 MHz. Note that package has a parallel resistor of 50 ft. D, consists of two pairs of BAW76 crossed diodes all other packages contain three such pairs. Fig. 16. The conventional duplexer. Zq = 50 1. If the transmitter pulse itself is used for this adjustment, turn the amplitude way down (by several orders of magnitude) so the receiver chain will not be saturated. Monitor the pulse through at least one preamplifier stage so the monitoring process will not disturb the circuit. The pulses should also be extra long so that the frequency spectrum of the pulse is fairly narrow, i.e., there should be a long constant amplitude center section to the pulse compared to the rapidly changing end sections as shown in the sketch on p. 401. This is because most duplexers are tuned devices which work best at... [Pg.429]

Clearly, product dissociation by this scheme, step 3, will limit turnover, as the product-template duplex will be stabilized over the substrate-template ternary complex. Maximizing AAG in step 1 is required to enhance fidelity, but this increased affinity is generally present in the product duplex. Obviously if the binding affinity could be a tuned variable, high substrate affinity for ligation to maximize accuracy and reduced product affinity to enhance catalytic efficiency, product inhibition could be avoided. [Pg.135]

Cavities, combiners, and duplexers are all selective-tuned filters. They are composed of three types of passive filters ... [Pg.2226]

The thermal stability (AG) of duplexes inherently reflects the cooperativity among the interaction sites that run up and down each strand. A deeper understanding of (1) the specific factors that contribute to the thermal stability of duplexes, and (2) the existence of enhanced stability of the first few interactions that are formed will greatly improve our ability to tune and utilize cooperativity for the rational design of duplexes. Insights about overall stability are common, but characterizations of the first contacts have yet to be observed. [Pg.154]

Beyond demonstrations of how the solvent environment and the chemical structures of a foldamer can be used to tune the cooperativity of duplex formation, these same principles have been examined in the context of chirality. Helices are inherently chiral. Without any bias, however, helices with left and right handedness exist in equal populations and equilibrate via an intermediate random coil structure. [Pg.156]
