DTPA, diethylenetriaminepentaacetic

Sodium formate (anhydrous) [141-53-7J M 68.0, m 253°, d 1.92. A saturated aqueous solution at 90° (0.8mL water/g) was filtered and allowed to cool slowly. (The final temperature was above 30° to prevent formation of the hydrate.) After two such crystns the crystals were dried in an oven at 130°, then under high vacuum. [Westrum, Chang and Levitin J Phys Chem 64 1553 I960-, Roecker and Meyer J Am Chem Soc 108 4066 1986.] The salt has also been recrystd twice from ImM DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid which was recrystd 4x from MilliQ water and dried in a vac), then twice from water [Bielski and Thomas J Am Chem Soc 109 7761 1987]. [Pg.471]

Impact of Organic Substances on the Bioavailability of Trace Elements in the Rhizosphere The potential of plants to create chemical conditions assuring the accelerated dissolution of micronutrient metals is best exemplified by plants such as Banksia trees and white lupin Lupinus albus L.) that can produce proteoid/cluster roots exuding large amounts of organic, notably carboxylic, acids (Dinkelaker et al., 1995). Indicators of micronutrient availability such as DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid)-extractable Fe, Mn, and Zn were found to... [Pg.298]

One more class of thallium(III) compounds has been subjected to structural investigations, namely the compounds of the type TKpoly-dentate ligandlX, where the polydentate ligands were EDTA (ethylene-diaminetetraacetate), DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetate), TPEN (tetrakis-(2-pyridylmethyl)-ethylenediamine), NTA (nitrilotriacetate), bipy (bipyridine), terpy (2,2" 6, 2 terpyridine), pent-en (N,N,N, N -tet-rakis-(2-aminoethyl)-ethylenediamine), andX = OH, H2O, CN", N03 (106, 109, 94). In these compounds, thallium(III) is usually hepta- or even octa-coordinated, in contrast to monodentate ligands, where the... [Pg.35]

DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid) extracts have been extensively studied, particularly as a Zn diagnostic procedure for calcareous soils [210,214,215]. DTPA (0.005 mol L at pH 7.3 was thought to be a possibility for the determination of extractable Cd, Cu, Fe and Mn, but would be less suitable for Cr and Ni. This procedure was stressed to be more complicated than the EDTA one and was recognized to be often misused [201] in addition, DTPA extracts less than EDTA which might lead to sensitivity problems. This method was, however, retained for the feasibility study owing to its high degree of acceptance. EDTA was the method of preference as it was extensively tested in previous studies and will be soon adopted as an ISO Standard. [Pg.208]
