Ethylenediaminetriacetic acid

Attempts to extend the C—N bond formation reaction using [Cr(edtra)(OH2)] (H3edtra = ethylenediaminetriacetic acid) were unsuccessful. The structures of the two ethylenediamine triacid complexes are different (107) (Fig. 15), and only [Cr(edtrp)(OH2)] has a flat sec-NH proton at the site of dehydration (see Section VI). [Pg.366]

N-[2-Hydroxyethyl]ethylenediaminetriacetic acid [150-39-0] M 278.3, m 212-214 (dec). Crystd from warm H2O, after filtering, by addition of 95% EtOH and allowing to cool. The crystals, collected on a sintered-glass funnel, were washed three times with cold absolute EtOH, then again crystd from H2O. After leaching with cold H2O, the crystals were dried at 100° under vacuum. [Spedding, Powell and Wheelwright JACS 78 34 1956]. [Pg.238]

The degradation products from EDTA such as ethylenediaminetriacetic acid and ethylenediaminediacetic acid cannot be determined with this method, because they do not react with ferric nitrate. The analytical procedure for the determination of these compounds is discussed in Section 6.6. [Pg.239]
