The product from these different sources is the same chemically, so far as we can determine, but varies, like the modifications of camphor, in its action on polarized light.

Certain species in other genera of this family, including Anisoptera, Cotylelobium, Dryobalanops, Hopea, Stemonoporus, Upuna and Vateria, and were analyzed in a similar manner, and found to contain similar types of sesquiterpenes and triterpenes to Shorea (Doona) and Dipterocarpus, as shown in Table 2 [20-23].
