From this it is inferred that the cell wall polymers are unlikely to be degraded under the conditions used in our studies. However, when dry ball-milling is substituted, the cell wall preparations are reduced after 45 h to overall particle size of 5 —15 p-m. Therefore dry ball-milling may cause some degradation of cell wall polymers, and for this reason it is avoided. [Pg.56]

The coal tested was a high volatile B Utah coal from the Orangeville, Carbon County area. Typical proximate and ultimate analyses of coal from this area are listed in Table I. The coal was dried, ball-milled, and screened to —200 mesh for these tests. The moisture as used in the tests was less than 1%. [Pg.102]

Another patent by BP America (29) deals with the preparation of an attrition-resistant fluid-bed catalyst based on unsupported vanadium hosphorus mixed oxide. The mechanical properties are given to the catalyst only by the special pr aration procedure. The procedure is summarized in Scheme 10. Key-features of this procedure are i) densification of the catalyst precursor by tabletting or pdleting, followed by dry ball milling, ii) preparation of an aqueous slurry with the uncalcined comminuted catalyst, because the calcined catalyst (and the oxidized precursor, also) may be altered by water, and iii) activation of the particles in the fluid-bed which gives higher attrition resistance than static calcination. [Pg.7]

Reports of quantitative data of the electric conductivity of NASICONs are few in number, and appear to differ considerably depending on the chemical composition and preparation conditions. SUva et al (2006) measured the d.c. conductivity of CaTi4(P04)6 produced by high-energy dry ball-milling for 15 h of a mixture of... [Pg.382]

Mangels [116,117] has made use of the reduced viscosity of wide size distribution powders to produce injection molding blends of high powder loading (73.5 vol%). Working with silicon powder, particle size distributions were obtained [116] by dry ball milling and air classifying, and it was subsequently shown that a 140 h dry ball-milled powder with the broadest particle size distribution yielded the best viscosity in... [Pg.188]
