Doxycycline hydrochloride

Antibiotics may be classified by chemical structure. Erythromycin, chloramphenicol, ampicillin, cefpodoxime proxetil, and doxycycline hydrochloride are antibiotics whose primary structures differ from each other (Fig. 19). Figure 20 shows potential oscillation across the octanol membrane in the presence of erythromycin at various concentrations [23]. Due to the low solubility of antibiotics in water, 1% ethanol was added to phase wl in all cases. Antibiotics were noted to shift iiB,sDS lo more positive values. Other potentials were virtually unaffected by the antibiotics. On oscillatory and induction periods, there were antibiotic effects but reproducibility was poor. Detailed study was then made of iiB,sDS- Figure 21 (a)-(d) shows potential oscillation in the presence of chloramphenicol, ampicillin, cefpodoxime proxetil, and doxycycline hydrochloride [21,23]. Fb.sds differed according to the antibiotic in phase wl and shifted to more positive values with concentration. No clear relationship between activity and oscillation mode due to complexity of the antibacterium mechanism could be discovered but at least it was shown possible to recognize or determine antibiotics based on potential oscillation measurement.

Other drugs in combination with a sweetening agent were also studied, dextromethorphan hydrobromide [21], doxycycline hydrochloride [21], erythromycin [23], chloramphenicol [23], ampicillin [23] and cefpodoxime proxetil [23] as bitter drugs and simple syrup (2.5M sucrose solution, used as a flavoring agent prescribed by The Japanese...

Doxycycline is a semisynthetic, tetracycline, antibiotic drug. Doxycycline hyclate (doxycycline hydrochloride hemiethanolate hemihydrate) injection solutions (100mg/5mL) may be administered by slow IV injection or by IV infusion (maximum four hours). Reconstituted solutions, in either 0.9% sodium chloride injection or 5% dextrose injection, are stable for 48 hours under fluorescent lamps (Product Information Sheet, Vibramycin , 1995). 

Occasionally salts may demonstrate lower aqueous solubilities and dissolution rates than expected due to the common ion effect. For example, the dissolution rate of doxycycline hydrochloride dihydrate salt was determined as four times greater in water than in O.IM HCl solution. Changing the dissolution medium from O.IM HCl to O.IM methanesul-fonic acid resulted in an increase in rate, clearly demonstrating specificity for chloride ions. This effect is due to the presence of chloride ions in the dissolution medium, which disturb the position of equilibrium for the drug solubilization process ...

Liu et al. developed an MIP-based conductimetric sensor for diazepam and achived LOD of 0.008 mg L [404]. In another report, MIPs based on doxazosin mesylate template, methacrylic add monomers, and triallyl isocyanurate as the crosslinkers were prepared and used for the spectrophotometric detedion of doxazosin [440]. There have also been reports on an MIP-based potentiometric sensor for doxycycline antibiotic [389] or on MIP-flow injedion chemiluminescence determination of doxycycline hydrochloride in the range of 9.0 X 10 -6.0 X 10 g.mL and the detection limit of 3.2 X 10- g.mL- [410].
