DNA-Binding peptide

Experimentally, anti-dsDNA antibodies have been successfully induced by a complex of native calf thymus DNA and a highly immunogenic DNA-binding peptide Fusl (D7).

DNA binding peptides can also be S5mthesised that can be coupled to cell specific ligands, thereby allowing receptor mediated targeting of the peptide/DNA complexes to specific cell types. One such approach has been to synthesise a cationic peptide based on 16 lysines and an RGD peptide sequence ". The RGD sequence has been shown to facilitate binding of the peptide/DNA complex to the integrin receptor on Caco-2 cells in vitro.
