Lockheed The DIALOG Information Retrieval Service, from Lockheed Information Systems, has been serving users since 1972. The DIALOG service has over 100 data bases, several of which are relevant to chemical industry needs. These include those which follow. [Pg.51]

The ROSDAL (Representation of Organic Structures Description Arranged Linearly) syntax was developed by S. Welford, J. Barnard, and M.F. Lynch in 1985 for the Beilstein Institute. This line notation was intended to transmit structural information between the user and the Beilstein DIALOG system (Beilstein-Ohlme) during database retrieval queries and structure displays. This exchange of structure information by the ROSDAL ASCII character string is very fast. [Pg.25]

One of the largest online bibliographic sources for toxicology information, these databases contain over 3 million citations to all areas of toxicology. TOXLINE references are drawn from various sources grouped into two parts - TOXLINE Core and TOXLINE Special. A standard search of TOXLINE retrieves records from both subsets. Users can also limit retrieval to only one. Both files are available on the NLM MEDLARS system (DIALOG on CD through Silver Platter). [Pg.1435]

A scientist or engineer seated at any of these terminals may search through the system s indices or browse through the document citations to locate the ones he needs. The citations in the system are those which have appeared in Nuclear Science Abstracts (NSA) since 1967 or which have been compiled into one of the special data bases added to the system. Information from NSA or the special data bases can be selectively retrieved by typing simple search commands on the station s keyboard with the dialog between user... [Pg.319]
