Deck type units

For the continuous vibrating deck type units, we would perform the sizing on a similar basis to that for flash drying, although we would probably not need to backmix here since the fluid bed can handle a denser, pastier material. 

Cooling towers are classified according to the method by which air is introduced to the tower. The principal types are atmospheric spray, natural-draft, mechanical-draft, deck-filled, spray-filled, coil shed and hyperbolic towers. Most industrial cooling tower installations are field-erected units designed for specific thermal characteristics. 

This interpretation was devised empirically from salt-induced corrosion of cast-in-place bridge decks in the United States. Also offsets are seen for different types of concrete (precast or containing cement replacement materials). 

The most versatile power truck is the fork-lift truck which may be powered by an internal combustion engine or batteries. The basic unit is equipped with two forks attached to uprights for lifting standard pallets, but a variety of special-purpose arrangements may be fitted, such as drum grabs and pushing devices. The use of pallets, which are load boards for the assembly of a number of containers to form a unit load , is now almost universal in chemical factories. They are constructed in wood, steel, or light alloy. The most common type is the double-decked pallet which is illustrated in Fig. 2.S. 

A high-level switch must be utilized with this unloader. Most often, the rotating paddle type is used. The switches themselves are mounted in the silo deck with the paddles mounted on extension shafts. Extensions must be used because of the angle of repose the material adopts when loaded into the silo. When material contacts the paddle, the unit is shut off. Expendable Wood Pallets. These pallets are used to support a unit load for one-way and one-time use. Pallets of this type must be specified with the capacity to carry unit load bnt do not require the durability of reusable types. The single-face style (Fig. 4.2) is primarily used for this purpose. Plywood deck surfaces are frequently used for expendable pallets. 

Spatial or area repellents are designed to repel and kill biting arthropods in relatively small, semienclosed areas. These prodncts are generally formulated as candles, coils, or prodncts with some type (often bntane) of catalytic converter to burn and passively dispense the active ingredient. These prodncts often contain either essential oils, such as oil of citronella, or allethrin as the active ingredient.
