Data load manager

Data load managers are a collection of modules performing extraction of raw data and metadata, transformation to the unique data warehouse representation, and the upload of data into the data warehouse. 

The reliance that can be placed in a computer system is fundamentally determined by the integrity of the data it processes. It must be recognized that data accuracy is absolutely vital in the business context. However well an application works, it will be fimdamentally undermined if the data it processes is dubious. Data load is a key task that must be adequately managed to satisfy business and regulatory needs. Loading of data can be broken down into five basic steps data sourcing, data mapping, data collection, data entry, and data verihcation. 

Site validation activities should include configuration management, data load, and specifica-tion/design/testing of any locally developed specific site modifications. Validation of site-supported infrastructure should be incorporated within site activities.

Laboratory data may consist of many different collections of tests, such as ECG laboratory tests, microbiologic laboratory tests, and other therapeutic-indication-specific clinical lab tests. Data collection is steered by a program that searches the run database for the first pending task. The parameters for this task are then loaded and the appropriate data collection process is invoked. When the task is complete the task manager looks for further pending tasks. This loop continues until there are no more tasks pending or until some abnormal event (such as a collision) terminates data collection.
