Cyclin-dependent kinase 4 , inhibitor activity against

UCN-01 [20] (http //www.novartisoncology.com/research-innovatiOTi/pipeline. jsp) also known as 7-hydroxystaurosporine, is a non-specific inhibitor of kinases with good activity against PKC, the cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and checkpoint kinase I (Chkl), and it is in phase II studies for the potential treatment of cancer - in particular chronic lymphocytic leukemia. [Pg.19]

Mukai and co-workers used a reduction/cyclization cascade to prepare (-)-nakadomarin, a manzamine-related alkaloid with cytotoxic activity, inhibitor activity against cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK-4), and anti-fungal and antibacterial activity. Treatment of the tetracyclic precursor with DIBAL-H followed by reaction with HCl led to the desired pentacyclic system in 41% yield. [Pg.130]
