Cross correlation analysis

The calculation of characteristic values causes a high amount of values which contain redundant informations. Due to this the forth partial step will be to reduce this amount of values using extraction methods. This can be realized with statistical methods like cross correlation analysis. [Pg.16]

We introduced the technique for measuring the weak interaction forces acting between two particles using the photon force measurement method. Compared with the previous typically used methods, such as cross-correlation analysis, this technique makes it possible to evaluate the interaction forces without a priori information, such as media viscosity, particle mass and size. In this chapter, we focused especially on the hydrodynamic force as the interaction between particles and measured the interaction force by the potential analysis method when changing the distance between particles. As a result, when the particles were dose to each other, the two-dimensional plots of the kinetic potentials for each particle were distorted in the diagonal direction due to the increase in the interaction force. From the results, we evaluated the interaction coeffidents and confirmed that the dependence of the... [Pg.129]

Synchronous 2D correlation spectra represent coupled or related changes of spectral intensities, while asynchronous correlation spectra represent independent or separate variations [1007]. The 2D cross-correlation analysis enhances similarities and differences of the variations of individual spectral intensities, providing spectral information not readily accessible from ID spectra. [Pg.561]

It has been possible by means of multivariate cross-correlation analysis to include the interaction between the metals which arise as a result of emission and transformation. The assumption is that the metals are transported at the same rate. The multivariate cross-correlation function Rxy(f) expresses a broad maximum at t = 3, i.e. 1.5 h (Fig. 6-20). This means that the mean transport rate of the metals is 3 km h Hydrological data gathered on the same day renders this result plausible ... [Pg.232]

Cross correlation analysis is proposed for assessing the dynamic significance of measured disturbances and set-point changes with respect to closed-loop error response, and testing the existence of plant-model mismatch for models used in controller design [281]. [Pg.236]

Reverse engineering has been successfully applied to relatively simple biomolecular systems. Using a combination of cross-correlation analysis and multidimensional scaling, the glycolytic pathway was reconstructed from metabolite activity data from an in vitro enzymatic reactor system [21]. A complete spatio-temporal model of developmental gene expression in Drosophila was constructed for a small gene set based on models of differential equations and protein expression data [22],... [Pg.568]

There is a cyclonic eddy located off northwestern Luzon, and this eddy exists all the year round, while the cold eddy off the southeast coast of Vietnam is thus named the Vietnam cold eddy. Cross correlation analysis shows that the local air-sea feedback mechanism is the major cause of the formation of the... [Pg.533]

However, a higher rate may well he justified on the grounds of needing better temporal resolution than 50 ms for transient or cross-correlation analysis, unless one is prepared to regenerate the signal between samples by some form of interpolation (e.g., sine, spline, polynomial). [Pg.492]

Two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy is used for detailed band assignment work. The technique allows spectral information to be analyzed that is much richer in information content than one-dimensional data. Cross-correlation analysis methods are applied to spectral combinations of NIR with NIR, or NIR and mid-infrared, allowing band assignments to be more easily accomplished. An excellent review paper describing the mathematics used in 2-D correlation spectroscopy along with several examples of generalized 2-D NIR and 2-D NIR-mid-infrared (MIR) heterospectral correlation analysis are introduced with 42 references by Ozaki and Wang. °... [Pg.34]
